5.1.1 UNTETHERED JAILBREAK FINALLY RELEASED!

Absinthe 2.0 supports the following:

iPad1,1 – 2,1 – 2,2 – 2,3 – 3,1 – 3,2 – 3,3
iPhone2,1 – 3,1 – 3,3 – 4,1
iPod3,1 – 4,1
(Support for iPad2,4 will be added at a later date)

How To Use Absinthe 2.0 (if you're unjailbroken):

1. Make a backup of your device in iTunes by right clicking on your device name under the ‘Devices’ menu and click ‘Back Up’.
2. Once your backup is complete return to your device and go to Settings – General – Reset – Erase all Content and Settings. This will make the jailbreak process much faster.
3. Open Absinthe and be sure you are still connected via USB cable to your computer.
4. Click ‘Jailbreak’ and wait…. just be patient and do not disconnect your device.
5. Once jailbroken return to iTunes and restore your backup from earlier. Right click on your device name under the ‘Devices’ menu in the left panel of iTunes and click ‘Restore from Back Up…’ then select the latest backup you created before. (restoring this backup will return all the content previously on your device ie, apps, photos, etc.)

How To Untether 5.1.1 (if you're already jailbroken):

Just search for and install "Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether" from Cydia.

Hey people,
Im making a quick update for owners of a 5.1 firmware iphone 3g, iphone3gs, iphone 4, iphone 4S, iPad 1, iPad 2, and iPad 3, (all devices including 3g ipads)

You need to go update your devices now to 5.1.1 Pod2g stated that this Untethered Jailbreak will work smoother on the later firmware 5.1.1

Why im telling you to update now is too be safe just in case 5.2 comes out sooner than expected (HOPEFULLY NOT!)


You can go ahead and update it is safe to right now.

This morning Pod2g the creator of many jailbreaks has posted on his twitter

"Thanks to awesome work of @planetbeing and @pimskeks, we're near ready for a release. Now it's a matter of days."

This is some great news and we will be expecting a jailbreak between Tuesday - Friday!

Pod2g just released that the  untethered jailbreak for 5.1 and 5.1.1 will be released anytime next week!

New Updates for IOS 5.1.1 and 5.1 Untethered jailbreak

Recently Pod2g has created an update on working and non working idevices for the 5.1.1 and 5.1 untethered jailbreak.

Here is the list of devices that are known to work for sure :

iPad 2 jailbreak Update!

First off apple released a new minor firmware, 5.1.1, you do not really need this and there's not really any improvements. DO NOT UPDATE. But if you did there might be some luck for you. You will need to wait until the jailbreak for 5.1 in released.

The reason i telling you not to update is just to keep you on the safe side. I don't was you being in the same position i was in a few months back, it sucks!
Pod2g tweeted today that the ipad 2 and 3 are fully jailbroken untethered and he is now testing it. Later on that day, pod2g said everything is running smoothly and now he will be developing a user friends tool to jailbreak all device. A tool like this can take a week or 2 to make and needs to be tested for proper use.

5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak

5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak has been announced that it will work on all devices including the ipad 3 and apple TV 3.
Pod2g (the creator of the 5.1 and 5.1.1 jailbreaks.) has stated that the ipad 3 (new ipad) was successfully jailbroken and untethered. A few days ago Pod2g tweeted that the ETA for the jailbreaks have been set to: "a couple of weeks."

Commonly "a couple of weeks" should be less than 2 weeks. It will most likely be released before June. Another known jailbreaker by the name of i0n1c has been teasing the jailbreak community for a while now. Posting pictures and videos about the jailbreak and tweeting about how he loves it proves that the jail breaking world has some black hats in it.
